| Description: About one quarter of the circle remains. A cylindrical base finished with fine toothed chisel. A carefully worked scamillus, a carefully scratched circle 0.025m. farther in. On outer face a lightly scratched horizontal line, a line of weathering and a vertical line. Dull white marble with dark lines and bands, highly laminated like that of Sounion column series. Material, workmanship and context suggest association with columns of Ionian series, perhaps as base. Marble. |
