Description: Left hand end of block preserved, broken at right. One of several step blocks from the Square Peristyle Building reused for retaining wall in forecourt of the Royal Stoa. Front face much worn but preserves traces of finished surfaces along left and bottom edges with remaining portion of face raised slightly. Top of block preserves finished tooth chiseled surface at left, raised werkzoll worked with point at right. Bottom of block is finished at left for a distance of ca. 0.75m. and along a strip toward front edge of block; remaining surface is left raised and roughened, finished coarsely with a point.
Hard travertine-like limestone.
