ΤΙΤΛΟΣ: Κυλινδρικό δοχείο - μέτρο στερεών με επιγραφή ΔΕΜΟΣΙΟΝ. Φέρει κεφαλή Αθηνάς, δίσωμη γλαύκα και επιγραφή ΑΘΕ 350 - 300 π.Χ.

Description: Mended from many pieces; a good bit of the floor missing, and a few fragments from the rim and sides, also the handles. The dimensions, the inscription, and both stamps complete. <graphic>

A cylindrical vessel, with a flat slightly raised foot. At the top, a broad band of glaze, fired black to red, below which is painted the inscription, the letters evenly spaced around the pot. Between the Μ and Ο, the Athena stamp; between the Ν and Δ, the owl, set sideways. The interior rather rough. At the top, and running and spattering toward the bottom, black to red glaze. At the lip inside, three marks of attachment, evenly spaced about the circumference, for handles. The outside surface finished with a transparent glaze wash..
