Title:   Torso of Female Figure: Artemis

Description:   Small female figure; the head broken off, and the arms a little below the shoulders; the right leg at the knee, and the left higher up. The top of the quiver is missing, and a bit of drapery below the right breast.
The figure wears a chiton, girt high by the quiver strap, and with a very long kolpos. A short cloak falls diagonally across her back from her left shoulder; quiver at right shoulder. Rospigliosi type.
Traces of various drill holes in the broken bottom surface; surface weathered; the heavy folds of the drapery deeply drilled.
Pentelic marble.
Now joined to S 1076.

Context:   N.-S. Byzantine wall, foot; west edge of 1st cut, 2nd series.
