Title:   Stele Pediment Fragment

Description:   Broken at right. Back point-dressed, front and sides smoothed. In underside a round dowel hole which connects with a round pour hole in back.
Left corner of a low pediment framed above and below by ovolo and taenia. Corner akroterion shape suggests a painted half-palmette. Lower ovolo continues around corner.
Carefully finished surface suggests mid 5th century. Perhaps from a votive stele.
Pentelic marble.
