Originally assigned as part of Tomb C 9:14 (Grave 7) JP "Large fragments of an urn were found in the packing of a Hellenistic water channel which cut through a LPG burial area and obliterated the urn and urn-hole of LPG grave C 9:14." ... P 6723, although surely an urn, rust-stained inside from the iron jewelry and within a meter of Grave C 9:14, is much earlier than the offerings in that grave and must have come from still another burial trench in the line of the water channel; a narrow burned strip along the edge of the channel opposite the fragments may be part of that trench.

Well cut into bedrock under late Roman building in ΕΛ. 1.2m in diameter with small cutting of unclear function at south edge about 0.2m wide. Walls cut straight down, tapering near bottom to 0.8m. Footholds ... Late Archaic ... There were 14 layers of fill from two periods-the Roman resurfacing of the area using Hellenistic fill (possibly associated with Deposit T-U 21:1, but not kept as such since floors were damaged in area directly above) and dumped fill from the late 6th/early 5th c. ... XII.(77.74-75.71m) clay with sand, even more ceramic, ,burned rocks and sherds; pigment and wood XIII.(75.71-74.84m) crushed bedrock and marl, wood (bucket), large shells, little ceramic, pigment.

Neat, rectangular, unlined trench, cut into bedrock to a preserved depth of 0.20m,below the level ... Early Geometric I ... The tomb was located in the area between pits A and D, and was just over 2m to the east of the preserved west wall of the Geometric House. ... Two other empty trenches were found within the area of the Geometric House, ,thought to be rifled tomb pits. Scattered cemetery debris,burned and unburned, was encountered everywhere in the vicinity.

Sterile. b) To a depth of 0.12-0.15m, : "ash and cinders with a few burned bits of nonhuman/animal bones. ... The se pots, all unburned and clustered together, would have been placed in the area immediately above the feet of the deceased. c) in the lowest 0.30m, very damp earth with very little ash, much heavy black matter "of a different character", from that in the layer above.

Glaze dull in places on outside; ... Ca. 480 B.C ... Glaze dull in places on outside; a bit abraded on topside of rim. Burned slightly on Side A. ... This is very likely what the small reserved area at the bottom of fragment c represents.
