Body, beginning of neck and part of right foreleg of front horse, with hand and arm of charioteer stretched over his back almost touching neck, and much battered ... Latter part of 6th c. B.C. (?) ... Body of horse well finished; but very rough-picked, perhaps unfinished surface below area, and between the two horses.
Coarse-grained Island marble, perhaps Naxian. |
Fragmentary figurines. Heads and lower legs missing.
The backs of the two horses are joined on top by a piece of clay smeared across.
Remains of white slip and traces of red paint.

The driver leans against the long hind legs of the central horses and rests his hands on their backs. The driver stands on ... 31 March 1932 ... Four horses with driver figurine.
... The driver stands on a narrow bar against the hind legs of the horses, on the neck of which are blue lines on the inner horses. Blue, red and white stripes across horses and man alike.
