P 20738: Black Figure Cup

Mended from many pieces; about one-third, including both handles and foot, restored in plaster. Most of decoration missing. Interior: Man running to right; cloak only. Black line around. Exterior: A and ... January-February 1950 ... Exterior: A and B: one reclining and one seated figure between Satyrs (Dionysos and Ariadne?); vine branches in the background; ivy leaves below the handles.

Mouth and part of neck missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height ... May-June 1954 ... Scene: in the middle Apollo with cithara right; at right, woman facing him (Ariadne?) and Dionysos holding horn, standing right looking back at them.

Kissing Couple. Floor of cup with emblem, broken all around. Cup rests on ridge (worn); convex underside with spiral. Six grooves preserved on exterior. Emblem within scraped groove. Busts of two figures ... 240-200 ... Female (Ariadne or maenad?)

P 387: Black Figure Tripod Pyxis Fragments

a) Fragment appears to come from some sort of stand, possibly tripodal; it broadens above to a concave insloping surface, smoothed and having a broken edge projecting inward. It is broken left and below, ... 11-18 March 1932 ... Free use of incision and of applied color: white on maidens and stones; purple on chiton and fillet of Theseus, peplos of Ariadne(?) left; hair of youth, right.

P 3155: Black Glaze Krater with Applied Decoration and Rouletting: Stamped

Mended from many pieces; the profile complete; most of the rim missing; also one handle and large fragments from the body. Restored in plaster. Heavy moulded conical foot; shallow wheel-run grooves on ... 3 March 1934 ... Dionysos and Ariadne(?). Long-haired male figure, nude save for drapery over knees, facing, his left arm supported by a draped female figure, left.

Krater. Most of rim, part of body, and one handle restored. Foot chipped, hole in floor (probably intentional); some appliqué figures partly missing. Molded foot; broad, flat resting surface. Low, hollow ... Context of 150-110 ... Frontal Dionysos with long hair, mantle draped around thighs, supported at right by smaller, draped figure (Ariadne or maenad?)
