Bottle-shaped cistern with dumped fillings on NW slopes of Areopagus; appears not to have been finished in antiquity: the walls and floor show no traces of stucco.

Well at 73/Μ on the lower northeast slope of the Areopagus.
Diameter of 0.90m. It seems to have been abandoned because of the very soft stereo that kept falling in from all sides. Many pieces of terracotta ... Ca. 430-420 B.C.
A very homogeneous dumped filling and no period of use. Apparently a failure as a well.
